I keep getting a blue screen error saying that I have a "windows protection
error. You need to restart your computer. System Halted." I have tried Ctrl
Alt Del, but it will not go off of that screen. Any ideas, suggestions? Oh
and it does this even in safe mode. HELP!

Running ME, and my anti-virus software (PC-Cillin) tells me that I
need some critical updates. So I go to the Microsoft site, and that
agrees; specifically, it suggests that I need KB896727, KB833989, and
814078.

Whenever I go to open the local disk (C:) window from my computer I get
an empty window. I know it's all there because if I right click from my
computer I can explore C: drive but it's driving me nuts that I can't
simply open the C: drive window and continue opening folders from

When I click on a program icon on my desktop programs will open twice. Any
way to disable this so programs only open once?

Can anyone tell me what the following error message means,
also can it be fixed and how do I fix it.

Hi.  I am having problems with McAfee SecurityCenter, VirusScan and
AntiSpyware.  It started a couple of weeks ago when updates appear to be
taking a long while to install.  The installation process was stopping during
the installtion process while installing Microsoft Layer for ...

Just curious, if I install a program in Safe Mode, what is going to happen?
Would the program work when I return to Normal Mode?
Or is my system going to be a big mess?

hi i am trying to install aol 9.0 for cd and from upgrade on the site. i keep
getting this error.  aolsetup has caused a invalid page fault KERNEL32.DLL at
017f:bff7834f.
i just did a format and recovery today and had no trouble with installing it

Having problems with keyboard and mouse response. Sometimes, keyboard or
mouse will take up to 10 seconds to respond to inputs. Almost seems like I
have a key logger or the system is very busy with other tasks. Also, takes
as long as 3 minutes for boot sequence to complete.

He is just fine!!  I just heard from him as his power was off for 36 hours,
but all is well.
I will let him tell you all about it in his *inimitable style*....LOL!!
I am sure he will have an interesting tagline after what all he has been

Could someone be so kind as to please explain why my System Monitor shows my
Processor usage running between 50% and 75% while I have nothing open that I
am aware of, except the System Monitor?   It used to rull well below 25%.
