I have Windows ME with a Memorex branded internal DVD+RW drive that I just
installed.
Now, under my system properties, the drive is shown and supposedly working
properly.  But my OS does not see any disc, and asks me to put one in ---

Unless I missed it, Spywareblaster has 13 new items in its data base, making
it 4962 total.

When I power-up, my System Resources are at only 67%, and goes to 57% when
I open Outlook Express. My Pentium 3, running on ME, has 127 MB of ram.
Isn't this low for start-up? If so, what can be done to take off some of the
resource (I assume that means RAM use) load ?

Disconnect  is   ...........       ticked
Auto Insert Notification is    ticked

There's lots going on here.  Start the computer and it seems to run fine.  
Get to the log in screen and after logging in, either with password or
hitting Cancel (whicl always worked before), it just stalls.......the
keyboard doesn't work at this point, but the mouse does.  ...

Got a Compaq Presario PC ( USB 1.1 ) running Win XP SP2 for a while !
Already get HP LJ 1010 connected using USB ... working fine !!
Now Just connected with additional HP PSC 1610 AIO printer and using
USB as well, to my Presario ....

This might sound a little strange, but I live in Slidell, LA and when I
evacuated I only put my computer four feet off the ground...I had wave action
in the house with 6-8 feet of water.  Needless to say my computer was
