Has anyone any experience of hotmail upgrading to 'windows live' mail.
My daughter has been on a world tour during which her hotmail account,
automatically, (according to her) upgraded to 'Windows live'.
On her return home the account refuses to work on our humble Win ME machine.

I've got an older Gateway PC that is running ME, that I had to wipe out &
reinstall.
When booting up, I'll get the ME spash screen, but then just a flashing
black curser in the top left corner.

Problem:  Managed to delete My Documents from the desktop.  I now have this
folder as a shortcut on the desktop.  However, even though all the files are
present within My Documents, whenever I want to save a picture, the "Save
as" screen does not show "My Documents."  Nor is under C ...

My Win Me computer crashes every 30 minutes or so.
I get a DOS window appear saying:

Press enter to return to windows, or

Computer using ME starts up normally. After a few seconds, nothing works.
Control Alt Delete reveals "msgsrv32 not responding". Deleting it returns
computer to normal. Microsoft answer involves Palm Inc. which does not apply
to me. How can I remedy?

I would like to install Linux on this machine along with the WinME OS
that is already on it.
The instructions say the computer must be configured to boot from a CD
to start the installation.
