A while back my son said he could not access excite.com to check his email. I
remembered being in a window earlier for a similar problem. I went there and
found excite was blocked and so I removed it. All worked well after that. The
problem is this 78 year old head can't remember ...

I've been trying to do security and internet explorer updates and have been
unsucessful. For the Internet Explorer update it gets through a large portion
of the update and then shuts down saying that a program is preventing it from

I am trying to install WIN 2K Pro on an IBM NetVista desktop (2251-TAU) and
it freezes on the Win 2K Pro splash screen with the starting up progress bar

I use ME. Have not made any changes to my computer. However, my browser
(IE6) now takes almost a min. to load. Before it was seconds. When I do get
on line, it runs fine. No other program is slow to load. I turned off
firewall & virus, still no difference. I've run Ad-Aware, ...

I have always be able to defrag, but recently I get this error message when
I try:
"Windows cannot defrag the drive because drive contains errors that must
first be repaired. To repair drive use scandisk and then try defrag again"

I have - only - one desktop icon that will not stay where is have placed it.
I do not have anything checked in "Arrange Icons". Is there a registry
setting I can tweak to assure this icon will stay in its place.
