I recently uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus and then downloaded/installed AVG
Free Anti-Virus.  My computer (Dell Dimension 8100) is working ok, but I
cannot open files in My Documents.  When I try to open a

My PC with WINDOWS 2000 PRO. automatically shuts down.  is starting in
normal state but after few seconds it gets shut down with out showing
any error. The shut down way is like normal shut down. it is appearing
that shutting down computer.i started in safe mode but there it is not

I cannot get my 802.11g card to install on ME.  Error msg indicates the
install software is looking for file "BCML5.SYS".  I've searched Microsoft
site for the file or other help without success.  Anyone have a suggestion

There have been times I was confused about System
Requirements when considering downloading some program.

The operating system I have on my desktop is Windows ME. A few days back, all
of a sudden I could not access secured sites on Internet Explorer. I can
access most of the sites on IE but cannot access few such as hotmail.com ,
https://my.sabre.com(used for my work), etc. I can use ...

I just upgraded my folks PC from Windows ME to Windows XP Home Ed.
XP home does not have the Haunted House screen saver in its list.
I think that the screen saver file is called mystery.scr  (but am not sure).
This file is in my C:\Windows\System  folder but is disabled and titled

Hopefully none of you recall the ugly saga last time with my elderly Dad's
computer (which I recapped on 12/31/05, in the ME systems tools newsgroup,
if you're a glutton for punishment).
He has an old ME computer, with minimum RAM, that I almost killed last time

I think I really screwed something up and need some help.  I upgraded
my computer from Windows ME to Windows 2000, only to find out that 2000
was released before ME so the upgrade was not compatible.  Now my pc is
only showing 16 bit configuartion and won't let me do jack.
