I was trying to use my 'startup disk' to run a neat little utility called
delindex ....   alas, I have discovered that the system cannot read any of
my floppies. Get err message "general failure reading drive a"

Just installed ME clean on new hard drive (western digital)
but it's only showing 2 gb instead of 40 GB.  New
motherboard so I don't think BIOS is problem.  Any ideas?

I pulled out both of my hard drives from my old p3
running windows me in order to put my 40gb into my newer
system. When i put the original 6.4 back in and rebooted
i get the messages "detecting primary master-none" and

A little while ago my hard drive crashed. I replaced it
with a western digital (WD1600) drive. I loaded ME from
the recovery disks into the clean drive. When the system
comes up, the bios shows 149 gig. However, my computer and

I am having serious trouble defragmenting and scandisking
my hard disk. In paticular, My "C" partition of the hard
disk will NOT even start up(hangs up)as it will only
say "reading contents...." and the same said for scandisk.

Windows Me recognizes my cd drive as a local disk just as
it does my C drive. I can't access my cd drive.

I have upgraded my computer from a PIII 500 Mhz with 256Mb

ScanDisk is reporting inaccurate free space on my hard
drive.
It's a 20 GB hard drive on a Compaq Presario 5000

installed, and cannot find drivers.  When canceling out
receive the following
ENUM\HTREE\ROOT\0 then SUREGCREATEKEY FAILED.
