Does anyone have a clue what to do when WinME freezes at
startup?  More specifically, a small window appears stating
'Windows is updating the hardware information database',
and does not go beyond that point.  It does not even move

I dont know how but i partition'd my hard drive and now
only have two gigs to work with, can anyone help me
unpartition I am going nutts trying to figure it out.

We run scandisk to scan the surface & the machine locks up ~500k of 700k
clusters. Scandisk did find bad clusters before the lockup. It seems to me
that if we could mark that cluster(s) as bad then we could copy the disk to
a good disk & recover most of the info. So is there a tool ...

I've been using my Samsung CDRW SW-252B for 6 months on
my PC running Win98.  It works fine.

I use CDRW for file back up.  I used mainly InCd.  All
went well for a time, then there were intermittent
problems/freezes/crashes/etc.  ME refused to recognise a
CDRW disk when I inserted one (CDRs and CDs were OK).

When my system is in the semi-frozen state and I do
control-alt-delete, I constantly get CCWin not reponding.
Is there any help for this problem?

I occasionally have to rebuild a system from scratch; format the hard drive
and reinstall windows.
The most difficult and time consuming part of the process is getting the
drivers reinstalled.  So, I'm looking for suggestions regarding processes

My C Drive is full and I can't switch over to the D drive,

The DVD-ROM will no longer play DVD's, although it can
play audio CD just fine.  When a DVD movie is inserted it
says "Please insert a disk into drive E:".  
I know it used to work when I watched a Harry Potter movie
