1.  How do I keep some programs from loading on start-up
and putting their icons on the taskbar?
2.  I have no "unplug or eject hardware" icon on the
taskbar, but need it to download digital camera pictures

My icons on my Control Panel are not shown.  The bottom
says I have 36 programs but I see no icons.  Background is
white.  I have tried the 'view' options to no avail.

My father has a dell computer running windows 98. he shut

hi i have windows 98 se and have windows me oem setup
but this is not a upgrade version how do i install on top
of windows 98 se without formating the hdd.

When I restart my computer after installing a program, it
says "windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2" and
then it says "MSIEXEC.EXE file is linked to missing export
MSI.DLL:222. And so it can't install the program. What

I recently lost the colour settings on my computer. I have
bee left with 2 coulours and 16 colours settings. Could
somone please help me on getting all of my colour settings

i want to uninstall windows me and when i go to do it ,
it says to make sure i saved windows 98 or i will have no
operating system. how can i check to see if i saved it

I am having the same problem as Nora & Bill G.  And I,
also, do not have a file WININT.INI.
Your suggestion to run SCANREG /FIX does correct the
problem until I try to install something else.

I am receiving an error when I am upgrading Windows 98 SE
to ME.  When it is 65% complete I get an error SUWIN and
VERX.DLL Protection Error.
Please Help.

I want to free up some resources.  Under the Startup tap,
what file are necessary for windows me to work properly
