Running Windows ME, how do I boot up in safe mode?

I've been trying to upgrade from Windows ME to XP
professional. "cannot copy the file clippit.acs" keeps
coming up during the file copy stage of setup. I changed

I am running ME. When ever i boot my system it takes 15

I installed an updated driver for my sound card and now
get "Error loading Explorer.exe. You must reinstall
Windows".  I've been through the knowledge base and have

I had Roadrunner installed, since then I have to sign in
