ffastlog.txt missing

Today my computer is refusing to play audio CD's.
When I use Windows Explorer to look at the CD tracks, all that shows is one
CDA file which Windows Media player refuses to play.  It says it is not a
recognised file type!

Does anyone know if Windows ME can be installed and setup on an Athlon 64?
I have tried several times the past few days and all I get is a BSOD
with a "Windows Protection Error" and no other information.

I want to reinstall Windows and would like to know what is
the best way to do it considering that I can only boot in
safe mode.  HD is partitioned in 2, should I go the format
C and then format D road?
