I have a problem with a friends computer, it does not boot properly, in safe
mode the screen goes grey after a registry/configuration error message that
says to run SCANREG to correct the registry error. In any other start up
option all I get is "press ctrl alt delete" to restart ...

I replaced my HD with a new one and want to reinstall ME
from my ME upgrade CDROM.  This is a clean HD install.
The cleanhd.txt indicates to boot from the ME recovery floppy with CDROM
support.  This works fine.  But when I try to execute:

I have an HP Pavilion running windows ME, and when windows starts the sound
it plays at startup skips. Any other time the sounds are ok. Is there an
