My defragmentation takes far too long.  My system is Windows 98 2nd Edition.

When I turned on my PC this morning,I had no sound at all.I went to "Sounds
and Multimedia"icon and checked the settings there with the (Advanced)
button.All the settings looked normal to me.I have Creative Sound Blaster on
my Dell machine.

Thanks a mil for your help..It worked like a charm.I did have Norton a couple
of years ago but deleted it last year.Guess these files were left over from
that time.I had 35,560 oem.inf files and it took me about 2 hours to delete
them all.But that did the trick.

Hi...Got a new one for you.
I installed the Kodak software to transfer pics to my PC and when I turned
it on,I got a "Updating Hardware Information Database" message.It just sat

I have disabled System Restore in my Windows ME, and want to delete the 500
MB _Restore folders on both my c:\ and d:\ drives, as I am low on and trying
to conserve space.
I have been unable to successfully delete them so far, even when trying to
