(I can't believe that "disk defragmenter" didn't bring up other posts!)  I'm
simply not able to defrag my drive.  It gets to 1% and quits.  Any ideas?  
I'm trying to solve other behavior problems: freezing up, various error
messages, etc. I guess I'm going to have to reinstall ME ...

Short version of story:
I have an old PC with Windows ME. Stopped using it about three years ago cos
it has a problem.  Decided to try and start it up to retrieve some old
photo's etc from it.
