WMC discovery on host machine20 Dec 2004 15:09 GMT1
WMC seems to respond to UPnP search requests from external sources (coming
from LAN interface), but doesn't seem to respond to requests coming from the
local host (loopback interface).  The Intel 'DeviceSpy' tool, for example,
doesn't
36 minute cap on mpeg files on DSM32018 Dec 2004 05:01 GMT2
Hour long recorded tv shows only play for a max of ~36 minutes.  Has anyone
else experienced this feature?  Hitting 'Display' on the D-Link remote shows
a total track time of ~36 minutes, even though the file may have a full
hour's worth of content.
File Types Supported16 Dec 2004 16:07 GMT2
Is there a list of file types supported by WMC somewhere?  Specifically, I
would like to archive my DVD library to hard drive and play them via my
DSM-320.
I have to use WMC because the D-Link s/w does not natively support DRM 10,

I have a Linksys WMA11B set for DHCP on a wireless connection set for
Infrastructure through a Linksys WRT55AG to my hard-wired Windows XP SP2 with
.NET 1.1.  If I run the Linksys utility, everything works fine.  If I stop
this service and start Windows Media Connect, I get no ...
Linksys Music System15 Dec 2004 22:25 GMT1
Well, for $100 I bought the Linksys Music box, but it comes with the crappy
Music Match software (aka "please please please please upgrade me")
Anyway, can I get WMC to work with it? or WMP?  I tried installing WMC, and
the Linksys seems to see the server, but wont show anything ...
WMV and DSM-32014 Dec 2004 03:03 GMT1
I was a bit preturbed by the fact that the DSM-320 doesn't play WMV, as I
have many WMV files on my computer. Even more funny, is the press release
from D-Link that states it plays them:

Share media without logon14 Dec 2004 02:31 GMT1
Does anyone know a way to start WMC (and share files) without logging in an
user account?
Nothing's happening!14 Dec 2004 01:45 GMT1
Okay, so I burn a lot of CDs.  I like to mix things up.  Today, I was trying
to burn a CD that had a song on it that was licensed, so it wouldn't let me
burn it onto my blank disk (incidentally, I bought this CD, and I thought I
already obtained this license that it spoke of...in ...

DSM-320, WMC and WAV files10 Dec 2004 18:49 GMT2
Hello Group,
Now that I'm using WMC rather than D-Link's Media Lounge, the box doesn't
"see" my WAV files. Is anyone successfully playing WAV files on their
DSM-320? Microsoft lists WAV as a supported filetype, so I'm wondering what
