I've just installed WMC and selected some default folders for sharing. When I
select 'My Musics' folder to share a messagebox pop-up with 'The folder
cannot be added' 'More data is available'. I'm running XP with SP2 and on a
domain network.

I was hoping to know if the WMC server will support the GoVideo and Gateway
media players... The latest firmware updates now support UPnP servers, but
I don't believe the player requests transcoding of files it can't directly
render.

I just purchased a new Audiovox SMT 5600, a twin of the C500 for use on
AT&T in the US. I am trying to get it to sync with WMP 10, but am having
issues. The phone has a section called "Storage" that has about 20 MB
free. Unfortunately, WMP 10 doesn't see this and is only showing ...

I get the following error message in the Event Log when I try to start the
WMC.
Microsoft.ContentDirectory.MediaNtServiceOnStartException: UPnP device
registration failed ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException

I'm sure it's not news here that DSM-320 re-starts from beginning when one
hits PLAY after FF while accessing video content served via WMC. My question
is: whose bug is it? And following that, any idea when this will be resolved?

Well, after finally getting WMC to work (see "Setup ..." - 15/10/2004), I
spent about 5-10 minutes with WMC before deciding it needs more work.
Issues that need resolving:

I get the message "Folder sharing cannot be started. The dependency service
or group failed to start" when i run Windows Media Connect(WMC). I have
installed WMC on a WinXP machine with SP2 & MS .NET framework 1.1.
I also find that UPnP service(upon which WMC is dependent) is not ...

windows media player will not let me play any music, whether it be music
saved on my computer or from a cd i have put in. it says there is something
wrong with my sound device. does anyone know how i can figure out what the
problem is or how i can fix it?
