WMC v2.0 Folder Sharing Could Not Be Started27 Nov 2005 21:24 GMT2
For starters, I'm not a complete networking noob.  I have 3 PC's, a laptop,
and a PDA (using Win Mobile 5) all on my home wifi (G) network and can share
files between any of the devices.  I'm running WinXP Pro, SP2 with all
windows updates installed on the PC where Windows Media ...

I've tried every suggestion I can find on the board and continue to receive
the following in the event log when trying to start WMC:
Service 'WMConnectCDS' failed to start correctly, due to
'InitializeNetworkMonitoring' returning error '0x80004005'.
XB360 only displays content from a single user account24 Nov 2005 17:07 GMT2
On my XP Pro box I set up media connect and configured it to allow shared
content with my 360. I customized which folders to share as both my wife and
I have accounts with different content, ie music.  I allowed shared content
for the my music directories for both user accounts.

I'm building a UPnP Control Point and when I send a M-SEARCH

All other devices on the network answer properly.  I eventually receive a

folder refresh23 Nov 2005 20:55 GMT2
2 questions
1.  Does Windows Media Connect automatically refresh the folder list.  For
instance, if I add a video or mp3 to a folder, will it appear on my device?
2. I have several mp3 files in a large directory of music, which do not list
WMC 2.0 and x64?23 Nov 2005 20:41 GMT3
I know that WMC is not supported officially on x64, but I'd really like to
get my system working with the Xbox 360.  Alan Ludwig mentioned a
command-line install that would get us going here

WMC the culprit?17 Nov 2005 02:48 GMT2
I recently downloaded windows media connect via windows update. Now whenever
I click on any folder or "my Computer" or the "recycle bin" on my desktop, my
computer dials the internet. I then have to run system recovery to fix this
problem.  However, as soon as I log on to the ...

I've been using Media Connect v1 for quite some time with my DSM-320 and
it's been working for me even with several annoying bugs. I was told to wait
for v2 and that I would be seriously impressed.
Well .... I'm not ... I installed v2 last night, and must say, browsing of

Does WMC alter, at all, my media files?16 Nov 2005 16:42 GMT1
Just wondering if WMC will do anything to my existing (.mp3) media files.
That is, will they be changed, even one (literal) bit, if I let WMC scan my
files?
