i got this message when trying to play a video my friend sent me from her digital camera. says, "class not registered." anyone know how i can register.... it? the file is an avi and had the WMP icon when i downloaded it from her, so i thought it would play, but alas.

I seem to have the same problem as many. My video files won't play, especially the avi.type files. MPG files play fine. On some files I will get audio but no video. I have several downloaded files that come up with the same message, "Class not registered". I don't know what this ...

I am reading about individuals downloading codec to play files. Where do I get the codec to download from and will this solve the problem of "Class not registered" 80040154? I cannot playback avi type files.
