When i try open a file contening a sound from web page its give me the following message:cannot play back the file.The format is not supported.  So when i click in the field details its show me the error= 0x80040265, Remedy ID = 0x0000000

Media player gave error message while trying to watch an avi file. I ran the file through gspot and recieved message non avi file type unknown has anyone got any ideas of what is wrong and what to try next.

I have just started getting this error message when trying to play .wmv files and a pop-up message stating that the "source filter can not be loaded."  This was not a problem before and .wmv are supported files.  Any suggestions for correcting this?

Each time I have tried to play my music files on my Windows Media Player 9, a message comes up reading "Windows Media Player  encountered an unknown error.
This happens when I click the play button
My operating system is Windows XP
