I tried to play an mp3 file just now, and a message came up saying that the file could not be played and that there may be a problem with my sound device. It says to try installing a new device driver. What does this mean? My error code is C00D11D1 .

My media player worked perfectly untill I upgraded to 9. Now it won't play most of my music files, wav or wma. I have a much older version of the player that works fine, and so does my RealOne player with the same files. How can I make the Windows Media Player 9 work?
