I have received this error message & have done everything it says such as getting a different brand of CD-R disc, & slowing the recording speed, but it still does not make my copy. I have Windows Media 9 Series, XP

I have updated lyrics in mp3 burned cd, and am still
getting old lyrics when cd is played.

How do I check to see if I have a sound card? And if I have I do find one how do I find out if the sound is muted or how do I trouble shoot it? Please help
