I can see the video on the laptop screen.  I can see the Windows Media Player window on the projected screen but the video is just black.  I there some setting I am missing?

Help: video thumbnails preview disappear
After installing a few mediaplyers like VLC, the automatic thumbnail preview
of my videos dissappear. I'm not talking simple as changing the settings for

MY OS is WinXP Pro SP1. I have WMP v9.00.00.3075 installed. When I am online
and right click any file to check its properties Explorer (not I.E.) calls
out to crl.verisign.com. The problem started after installing critical
update 828026. I verified this by uninstalling the update ...

My speakers went out on me for some reason....they turn on, theyre connected, the light even comes on but no sound at all...every time i try play the media player it says "cannot play file" if this is a soundcard problem then what do i do?
