I have windows XP with Media player 9 series. When I try to download movie trailer or TV program, I get this message OxC00D1197: Cannot p[lay the file. I checked the option menus and make sure that network, protocol, proxy are set correctly. Could any one help?

I'm currently running WMP version 9.00.00.3075. When I try and play any kind of music (IE. CDs, MP3s), I get this error code. I have no clue what this is. I tried to reinstall WMP, but it says that there is some kind of windows update problem. I've run all the windows updates ...

I have an old version of Windows Media Player...I have no clue where to download updates or get them...I would like a newer version if anyone out there is willing to send me a file with a newer version attached...I just want to listen to music...and on my older version of it ...

I was trying to watch a trailer of a game at ign.com and when i clicked to stream the video it seemed like it was loading but didn't. i clicked play a couple times but nothing happend. i am not using windows media player. i am using opera. PLEZ HELP

I keep reading from the MVP that people need to contact their DVD decoder rep for a fix.
It seems that there are enough people with the problem that the cause may be Media Player 9.
I didn't have this trouble with the earlier version.
Is Microsoft looking into this at all or are we ...
