I upgraded to Windows XP and loaded the "new and
improved" Windows Media Player 9.  Ever since that time I
have been unable to view any type of movie file.  The
file will begin to play and then the screen goes blank.

i am running windows 98se and using media player 9 but i cant play avi files i have tried downloading new codecs but i still cant play them can anyone help me solvr this problem please.

I have tried reinstalling windows media player 9 series but it saya that it was not possible to complete setup. So how can I fixed this problem? Can I play movies with vcd extensions in this player if yes then how?
