When I start a video clip, it starts out in color for less

I'm having big problems making screen captures (i.e.
vidcaps) when playing mpg movies on the Media Player 9.  
In full screen, I pause the mpg.  I click somewhere on the
screen to select the picture.  Then I hit ALT-PRINT
