I am unable to play the video portion of any attachments.  It plays the sound, but not the video.  It gives the error "80040200".

I recently erased my hard disk and reinstalled all programs.  Everything works fine except my speakers don't work.  Everything is connected right and I have tried the troubleshooter without resolution of the problem.  I get an error message when I try to play a CD as follows:
