I have windows media player version 9.00.00.3075. Under the tools menu and after selecting options I viewed the 'file type' tab. It says that Windown Media Player is my default player for Windows Video Files (avi). However I am unable to view avi files that I receive over the ...

I tried to watch an AVI file and i got this error: "Windows Media Player has encountered an unknown error." The web help told me it was C00D11CD...what does it mean and how can I fix it?

I needed the option of choosing between analog and digital under driver settings for the media player. This was possible with Windows 98. Since upgraded to XP (home) and I no longer have the option. Feedback?
