I am getting the following error when I try to run an MPG File. I believe its a MPEG-2 file. I downloaded and installed an MPEG2 Codec but I still get the following error.

when I try to play a music cd ,I get message   WMP cannot
find the specific file. Be sure the path is typed
correctly. If it  is, the file does not exist at the
specific location , or the computer where the file is

When I try to start WMP The icon and name appear on the
line next to start ( windows xp) at the bottom. It never
opens.  When I right click to restore or enlarge it flys

My burner is recognized as a cd rom, but no recording options etc.  And like I say, no devices detected when I try to copy to a cd or device.  Please help...
