Need help please... I already tried to re-install either

i have windows media player version 9,  my operating system is windows xp.
My problem is that i try to play some mp3 file, but it won't play at all.
I get this message "the input media format is invalid", which i don't get 'cause it does play some mp3s, but i don't know why it just ...

WMP9 was installed on my computer, but one day just

I was attempting to copy some audio tracks to my hard drive and when I completed the copying each file contained only 1kb of data and Windows Media Player would not play the tracks and kept giving me the "unknown error" message.  Does anyone know why this occurred?
