When I try to open a wmv. file, this is the only message I receive and it refers me to this newsgroup. I have downloaded version 9 and run Windows ME.   I know nothing about making adjustments to the system but can someone help me resolve this so I can use the player?

WMP9 will play one avi file (off local disk) but when the
next is opened loading commences (from Disk or web) but
when load is complete WMP9 shuts down. If I reopen WMP9 it
won't play but will shut down on loading afile. Rebooting
