help how do i play windows media when error 80040265 comes?please help.

I have a problem! I'm not able to watch my videos of type .avi and .mpg/.mpeg!
Error message ID number "C00D11CD"
Error message text "Windows Media Player has encountered an unknown error."

Any ideas what it means

I have had real problems with playing movies and mpegs, I can play MP3's ok, but any sort of moving picture won't play.
I keep getting the message' 0xC00D1198: Cannot connect to the server'
I have removed thw player and reinstalled it but I keep getting the same message.

I have been TRYING for days to get music to download to my mp3 player.  
Finally updated my firmware on it, and now windows media player says it has
encounted an unknown error!  Someone, please help me before i throw my mp3
player out the window.  

my aunt sent me a video message through email and it won't allow me to open
it up. It keeps comin up with an error message and I can't figure out how to

I downloaded the XP service pac 2. Accidently set it to
play all music on media player. I want to change it back
to real player. HOW?
