Don't want WMP10 as default DVD player29 Sep 2004 20:55 GMT3
When I setup WMP10 on a new PC I UNCHECKED the DVD file
box on the default player screen. After the instal I
inserted a DVD and when the "OPEN WITH" window came up I
check the Interactive Video and then checked the box at

I use Windows Media Player 6.4 because I have an older computer. The Player
worked fine until I downloaded and installed a codec package from
Microsoft.com for version 6.4 (file: wmp6cdcs.exe) , now I get no sound. I
followed the instructions for fixing sound problems but nothing ...

I'm trying to play a video file, and the message "Windows has encountered an
unknown error" came up. The error code is C00D11CD, Media Player is Series 9,
Operating system is XP, I think I need a codec or something, can anyone tell
me how to find out which one I need? Any help ...

Since I updated to WMP 10, my Windows Media Player Toolbar
doesn't work.  The buttons are shaded and do not function.
Otherwise, the full mode looks cool and works great.
