When I use WMP 9.0 I cannot get any sound when playing CD's or video clips.
This just started last week.  When I use the windows CD player I can play
cd's fine and web pages allow sound also.  Its just WMP 9 that I cannot get
any sound.  Any ideas?

1. I'm running WMP 9 on Win 2k.
2. Drivers and direct x are up-to-date.
3. I can't play wmv files.
4. I can, however, play them in mplayer2.exe.

I have tried to play wmv and avi files, but get a black screen.  However, if
I switch to another window then back to the MediaPlayer, I can often get a
brief glimpse of whatever is supposed to be playing.  Where should I start
looking for the trouble?
