I am having trouble playing back some video files (mpeg, as far as I know),
and sometimes mp3s. When I play the file, the length of the video/song is
shortened (example: original length would be 2 minutes, but is shortened to
40 seconds in the playlist for some reason), and yet ...

Whenever I view a movie in Windows Media player the screen looks washed out.
Is there a way to change settings (example: brightness/contrast, etc) ??

For some reason the videos appears funnily scrambled in my Media Player in
what seems like a CMYK colour scheme (compare to an inverted photo negative).
The same videos plays without problems for example in QuickTime on an eMac.
The problem is on all videos playing on the XP.

I have created a couple of videos in Movie Maker that play OK in MM but when
saved in Media Player playback in very bright and distorted, psychadaelic
colours.
Any way to turn this off or change settings?

When I play any format on Windows Media Player I can't see the picture
anymore - it's all washed out like a picture negative. I tried downloading
and installing Media 10, but it's doing the same thing.  How do I fix it?

When accessing media library or to add file to my libray I
am unable to.  When selecting Media Library none of my
music shows just black screen.  When trying to add track
