when i play it i only get the sound but get no pictures???????

Is there a way to stop Windows Media Player 10 from automatically connecting
to the internet whenever I start the program?  
If I want the program to connect to the Internet, I want it to be when I

properties. Media Player 10 is junk and should've been
better developed before it was available to the public,

I have upgraded the firmware.  I can play the music on the computer, but it

Hi, hows everything going on around here?
Well when i try to see a video on my WMP 10 nothing shows up...no
image...nothing just the sounds...when i use Power DVD then stuff shows up
there...but on WMP nothing...i tried updating "No newer updates avaliable"

WMP10 but it does not appear in my 'add/remove programs' list despite the
fact that it is obviously on my computer.  I need to put wmp9 back on to
match up with some old software I have.
Any way you know of that I can remove it would be greatly appreciated.

I got this new computer the other day and I transferred a lot of m
videos from the old comp to this new one
The mpg and wmv plays fine
But all the avi only displays sound but no video..
