When I tried to install Media player 9 series on a laptop running Windows
2000 get a message UxTheme.dll not found. When I did the search for this file
it was found on the local drive. When I try to view the video the screen is
blank only can here the sound. How can I fix this ...

cant get any sound at all when playing dvds, especially recorded ones when we
used to get sound,  we had sound card replaced but still no sound. please help

After playing the songs from the c: drive, I change the location of the songs
from to D: drive and of course, I cant play the songs anymore. How do I
change the path in the WMP? Thanks for your help.

When i try to use a link for music found on a website i get this message:
Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you
might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy
settings might not be correct.

i always rip music from cd's to my computer and then it just stoped, it comes
up with windows media has encountered an unkown error! its never done
anything like this before. i have cheacked everything, and i can't find how

Is there something I am missing or is it that difficult?  I cannot get any
mp3 file encoded at 80 kbps to produce sound.  The file plays, with no
errors, but no sound comes out of my speakers.  I also could not find any
threads with the same problem.  Am I the only one?

Im using WMP 10 with XPSP2
when Im playing an original DVD I cannot see any video, but the audio is
functional. I have the nviddec.ax decoder vers 4.0.67.0. The WMP is working

Really None.  The bottom line is that WMP will play only their own
proprientary formats. They will not play real media, quicktime, etc. In a lot

I can burn one CD, but in order to burn another one I must reboot Windows, or
else the next burning attempt will fail (burning only a few songs or none at
all) and ruin my CD-R. Any help? Thanks ahead!

I just downloaded WMP version 9 and tried to view any video, but get the
error message 86040265 "Can not play back file, the format is not supported"

In Mediaplayer 10 sometimes I see the cover and sometimes I don't - even for
singles ripped from the same cd?

When playing a DVD, when I click on file properties,  there is no Bit Rate,
Audio Codec, or Video Codec when playing a DVD.  It is blank.   It does
recognize those items on a CD, mp3,  or downloaded video.  It is as if there
is a mute button that prevents those items from being ...
