folks!! was wondering how to convert media files stored in my computer into mp3 format. Off hand Media Player 10 allow that if the files are stored on CD, but what do I do with those on my hard disk?

My windows media player wont play any audio or videos at all - i get error = C00D1199: Cannot play the file, Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
