Windows Media Player's Help menu, selected the "Check for Updates" item. After going to web for a moment (letting y'all know it didn't only stay local), then a dialog is display: Title Bar: "Windows Media Configuration Manager"

In easy to understand english could anyone please explain to me how to keep the player from launching itself every time I turn on my computer? Player is 9 series and platform is Windows XP home edition version 2002 service pack 2.

When I pull up my library there are certain albums and songs that are listed with a white background/white text. It was not always this way. Is this a glitch within WMP 10, or did I screw it up somehow?

Windows XP SP2, most recent updates. .Mpg and .Avi files seem to play ok, but .wmv files cannot be fastforwarded, or the slider cannot be advanced, without the video freezing and hanging. Audio continues. Sometimes video will catch up but often not.
