Why is it that when playing a .wmv clip, the video looks like a color

I've successfully ripped the tracks I want to burn to my compilation
album.  They appear in my documents, they will pay from there BUT they
do not appear in the library nor can I persuade them to.
Any ideas at all since I am tearing our what little hair remains?

when i try to download videos from net my wimdows media player automatically
downloads them but i want to sace clips to my hard disk instead of playing
directly in windows media player.

I ripped CD's but none of the tracks will play back.  Media Player shows
"opening media" but the highlight bar floats and hovers from one track to
another when I click on "play" and never stops long enough to play a file.  
Any ideas?

After searching or editting album info in WMP 10 clicking finish yields a
script error - "Object doesn't support the property or method" Code 0 and
then a URL. As a result album info doesn't update. Any ideas out there?

i have a file that is played with distorted aspect ratio if played in
Windows Media Player 10.  So I used the  mplayer2.exe to play it... the
older version used to be able to freely resize to different aspect
ratio, but the latest version doesn't seem to be able to.
