When playing a DVD using 5.1 surround sound in windows media player 10

music and sound effects comes out of the rear left and right speakers.
Problem with sound when playing video file06 Jun 2006 18:23 GMT4
I use Windows Media Player to play video files. The first time I did this I
had sound only and no picture, but someone here directed me to a Dvx (or was
it Dvi?) codec that solved that problem. After that I'd been happily watching
many video files, but I just tried to play a new ...

Meta Data management - same album, different dates and entries!06 Jun 2006 11:04 GMT2
Frustratingly, WMP 11 seems unable to let you really specify the details of
an album, without overriding the information. And the information in some
cases just doesn't make sense. How can the same album have two different
original release dates? I'm developing a library full of ...

Everytime I load a .wma or .wmv file windows media player gives me a message

Default Media Player06 Jun 2006 10:24 GMT1
How does one choose a default media player.  In help & support (for v7?) it
says to select all file types makes it the default media player.  I am having

mplayer2 player ( the old v6.4 player). I have checked ...

I recently had to completely re-do my XP X64 install, and I had been using
