My grandson has a Windows 2000 Pro system with MS Office XP 2002.  I
think he's also got Windows Media Player 9, I think.  He thinks I
should be able to help him because I'm a software developer,  but I
don't know zilch about Windows Media Player.

I love Windows Media Player 11, especially it's library component but I
can't figure out one thing. Often, when I add a music downloaded from
one particular album/CD, Windows Media Player often creates duplicate
albums and splits up the songs to these albums.

Can someone tell me how to remove album art from the library?
When I try to choose columns the album art is greyed out and won't let me
hide or remove it.

Sometimes, when I have all my tag information the way that I want it, and
perhaps not exactly how the database shows it (e.g. removing [UK] from album
titles and so on) I would like to be able to just right click on the disc
icon and select "update album art".

I try removing the Media player it is still there. When i tried to install
Windows Media Player 11. It could not be installed. How come?

If I play audio or video then the artistname, track name etc is 'hidden' to
the left of the transport buttons.
So I can only (almost) see the info I expand it full screen, or shrink it to
its minimum size where it displays (mostly) in the title bar.

I download all my music via Rhapsody.  The Windows Media Player  V10
imports the tracks to its library by monitoring folders.  The problem is, it
does not recognize subfolders.  Anyone know how to get around this?  I have
tried wildcards, but Windows doesn't like them.

When inserting a CD for ripping, WMP obtains the wrong CD info.
Would not be much of a problem, however, when I'm ripping two volumes
of a series of CD's, WMP overrides the files of the first ripped CD!

Just purchased this mp3 player.  Whenever I connect via usb and wmp 11 is
open it crashes.  The crash was caused by drmv2clt.dll, which I assume has
something to do with digital rights management.  Any idea what could be

I need to roll back to version 10 (or re-install v10) but the rollback in

I have a problem to see videos in WMP and any other player that I tried. Any
film that I see has a dark image (it difficult to explain but it is like
