Title: Evolution or Revolution? New media seems to break the rule

my windows media player 11 is minimized to taskbar when started, and it
cannot be maximised (or restored). I tried enabling and disabling the mini
player, nothing helps. I tried re-installing but it's useless. I receive no
error messages.

It would be nice to see native support for some 3rd party codecs.  Primarily
matroska, mkv and ogg vorbis, ogm.  Since the codecs are free they could
potentially be included with media player, currently no media player supports
them by default which is rather frustrating since ...

Under Tag Editor, the format is not correctly populating in the correct
field for some of my music.  By this I mean the Title field just has for

I'm trying to roll back to WMP 10 versionn but each time I try I get a
message saying some programs are depended on WMP 11 and I can't do the roll
back. I also can't get WMP 11 to work at all now ,any suggestion other than
doing a system restore.

I have tried to play DVD's using Windows Media Player and it always skips and

Is there a way using Media Player 10 to record an upcoming speech? I have a
microphone, cd's etc. In the past I used just the "Sound Recorder" to record
short messages but, apparently, it is limited to 60 seconds and this speech

I try to play videos but Window Media Player 11 does not let me.  It would be
helpful if you included a list of codecs we need to play what we want instead
of always having to go by trial and error, which can be time consuming and

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my CD's but when I pop it in to my
CD-rom drive and windows media player opens, it brings back all the track
listings, however on certain CD's it brings back in correct titles, mainly
becuase they're in the wrng order.
