Can anyone tell me why WMP is trying to access 1059 on localhost?
Is it anything important?
Does it matter if I block it?

I have downloaded the updates but have not been able to
proceed in the installation process beyond " I accept"
after reading the EULA. The button " I accept" just
woould not work.

,I wanted to make a mixed c.d. and wanted to rip the c.d. to windows media
player, then just choose a couple songs off it as it has explicit lyrics. I
can and have made a copy of the whole c.d. But I can't rip it, and get just a
couple songs from it ?

I cannot stop .wmv video's form actavating ActiveMovie Window everytime I
play one.
I have tried Tools, Options, File types to play in Windows Media Player
being checked.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Media Player 11.  And

I'm running an IBM ThinkPad T40 with XP Pro SP2.
When I put a DVD in the drive, there is some brief drive activity (light
goes on, some sporadic "drive motor" noises), but XP does not prompt for

first off I really like the addition of  "album artist." I have a lot of
compilations and this really makes my life easier.
Now what would be nice is the ability to select a mass of albums and choose
to "name Album Artist based on artist" or "name Album Artist based on album"

I just installed WMP 11.  While in Now Playing, I accidentally closed the
pane on the right that shows what songs are in the playlist you're playing.  
Now I can't figure out how to make it show again.  Does anyone know how to
make it show?

When Beta 1 for WMP 11 came about I was enthralled:  the UI was absolutely
beautiful, clean, stream-lined, did I mention beautiful?  Now, Microsoft has
gone to Beta 2 and I can't be more disappointed in the UI changes.  Many of
the UI elements were changed to more stylistic ...

The recently added library default sort order is by date added
ascending. Surely this should be sorted descending, as you'd want to
see the things you added most recently at the top.

Lately, when I open Windows Media Player 11, my cpu usages goes off the
chart.  I have a picture of it at 97%.  All this time, I cannot get the WMP
screen to refresh.  I don't see a checkbox that says "check for new media
every time WMP is opened" but maybe I am just missing it.  ...

I had InterVideo Media Launcher and MediaOne Gallery installed - they
came with our motherboard.
Windows Media Player 10 was working and we could watch DVDs on it with
no problems.

After putting in a learning series course which a friend has lent me I get a
message with the title of "DVD Player" saying:
"There is no Windows 2000 compatible DVD decoder installed on this system. A
DVD decoder device or decoder software is required to play movies ( a DVD

  After transferring a song from my windows media library on my PC to my
PDA I get the error message on my PDA : "unable to play file as file header
is too large". It only happens with this one song and it will play on my PC

any suggestions?

How can I get WMP to always open in the radio view.......or at least the
guide view?
