I just tried downloading WMP 11B2 and am having trouble with it finishing the
load and starting.  When I get toward the end of the installation it says:
Online install required
A Required component is not available for download during Windows Media

I cannot update the media info that I find through Windows Media Player when
I rip a CD. All of my privacy settings and rip settings are correct. When I
find the info, then click "Finish", the CD remains listed as "Unknown". Whats
going on?

Ever since I installed Windows Media Player 9, it auto starts every time my
system starts.  I use Windows 2000 and I checked and it's not in the Startup
folder.  Any ideas how to stop this?

I have used the iRiver web site to successfully update the driver on my
iFP-899, 1 GB iRiver mp3 player.  Upon connecting it via the USB cable and
starting WMP11, WMP stated that the device was not recognized.  I clicked on
Web Help and was brought to a list of firmware upgrades ...

I used to play some .wmv files with  WMP10(and WMP9) and with PowerDVD.
I installed WMP11.
Now, Power DVD plays .wmv files with a gear and a clutch (it accelerates and
decelerates at certain points), WMP11 plays the wmp files fine.

Library" exists as an option, but the reverse does not.  I'd like to see an

I have a new computer with Windows XP Home Edition on it.  Media Player 10
wanted to install when I clicked on a audio file.  I said okay.  After
install it looked like it was on the internet.  I do not care for that.  So
I rolled Windows back to before Media Player was installed ...

I've been using WMP with an iRiver h10 for about a year, currently WMP
10.00.00.4036.  I use a mix of mp3 and wma files (from a drm
subscription service), and have a dozen or so custom mix playlists on
the h10 which I manage through wmp.

When i try to stream videos from the internet, the play buttom becomes
clickible but doesnt respond, no videos on the internet will play that use
WMP as there player, this wasnt working a few days ago when i had WMP 10 and

I have a really strange problem right now where i cant seem to play any

This is NOT an AutoPlay thing. (I'm pretty sure).
When I have WMP loaded, and I insert a CD to rip to my HD, it automatically
starts playing the CD.

Every time I put a CD into the computer to listen to, WMP 10 wants to
automatically rip the tracks, while it is still playing. It slows the
computer so much that many times I do not realize what it causing the slow
down. I have unchecked the option for "rip cd when inserted" but ...
