After replacing my hard drive on my computer, I've noticed that all my mp3
files' icons have changed to a generic looking icons.  They're no longer
represented by the nice looking Windows Media Player Icon, thus you think
when you glance at them in my music folder that they're ...

Player does'nt start when clicking on a clip.
Hear only the sound and see a picture,but closing WMP and clicking again on the clip, works fine.
Any setting to be done ?

After i've installed Media Player 11 and start to play MP3's, if i insert a
CD or DVD into my drive i can't view the files. However if i close Media
Player 11 and then re-insert the CD or DVD windows explorer can view the
files with no problems.

media player 10 plays dvds fine. tried playing avi file, can here sound.. but
NO ppicture. VIEW button has NO 'show video' option as help suggets. any

I use WMP 10 and since a few days the quality of mpeg's and avi's is very
bad. It looks blocked and it looks like it is misty. It's with all of my
movies.
An other user on my computer doesn't have the problem.

In Windows Media Player I'm trying to play a song I burned off a friend's
computer and I keep getting a License Aquisition and then it says I need a
Security Certificate What should I do?

My WMP plays music but not videos. the only way I can ge tthem to play is if

Does this mean that a ASF file could contain only audio data that means it
is a audio file? As soon as it contains video data, it becomes a video file?

Every day for approx. a year I have opened windows media player 10 - selected
XM radio - logged in and listened to XM while I do my work.  Today when I
open WMP it says "contacting online store" (which is normal), but then it
says "ERROR CONATCTING SERVICE, please try again later ...

I fired up WMP 10 to listen to some nice background music via radio
stations. Seems like "free radio" is gone and you have to buy music
now, e.g., emusic, napster, AOL Music.
Is that right? If so, a major downer for WMP and Microsoft.

I don't have a sound card installed on my computer so my windows media player
10 cannot play my files. Where can i go to download/get a sound  card?
