Copying partial tracks31 Dec 2006 17:34 GMT1
Does anyone know whether it's possible to copy sections of a track as opposed
to the whole track?  I've got a track where the song ends after 3.50 but the
track is then blank until 6.54 before the next track starts.  I obviously
want to remove the three blank minutes.  Grateful ...
Confused about files and formats31 Dec 2006 07:13 GMT1
Newbie - possibly really dumb questions:
Here's what I'm trying to do.  I want to transfer some of my music to an MP3
player.  Naively, I assumed I just ask WMP 9 to rip the desired tracks to
MP3 files, and then burn the MP3 files to a blank CD

I tried to update my WMP to 11 and after it installed, it would not work on
any movie file, music file, nothing.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall 10,

Line In31 Dec 2006 04:54 GMT16
Does anyone know if Windows Media Player will accept input through a line
input for "ripping" things from LP's (vinyl) or from cassette tapes? It
appears to rip fine, but only from CD's
WMP11 miniplayer & microsoft multimedia keyboard31 Dec 2006 04:07 GMT1
I've just upgraded from media player 10 to 11 after I was prompted to (by

miniplayer mode.  The play/pause, stop, backward and forward buttons all
work when media player is in normal mode, but zip, nada, ...
Configuring media preferences in WMP 1131 Dec 2006 03:37 GMT1
In WMP 11 I would like to have WMP go out and look for information from the
internet on album info, year, and album image.
I don't like it to put different artists in subfolders however.  Is there a
way I can make it all stay in the original folder?

I was creating a new image of Windows XP SP2 for our laptops and including a

High Definition - WMV HD - Anyone use it?30 Dec 2006 18:10 GMT2
Not many comments about Windows Media Video HD on the forum.  I'm particulary interested if anyone has observed jerky playback on WMV HD content after switching to WMP 11.
Lots of free sample clips at:

Do you hate WMP11 as much as me?30 Dec 2006 14:47 GMT2
I tried WMP11 back in beta and while it was prettier, too much functionality
was missing. So when I reinstalled Windoze (primarily due to problems with
lockups in MP3 playback that were present in WMP10 and 11) I went back to
WMP10.
