XP Pro user here, with Auto Updates ON - I just ran Trend Micro's Free Scan,
which I do every couple of months, in addition to AVAST, and a warning came
up in the results (which were minor) about my WMP and directed me to this
link in MS ... I realize it's an older Bulletin, but ...

               I have WMP 10 on XP Pro and every now and then I get a
message saying a media update is available.  The update will then try and
install WMP 10 which I already have and promptly fails.  Why is it doing
this?  Shouldn't it be trying to update to WMP 11 rather than ...

When browsing thru a specific artist (e.g. Genesis 33 albums, 300+ songs)
You can sort/play the music in order of:
A-Z Album title ????
length of song???

I have a problem about windows media play 11.
The issue can be duplicated like this:
1.play a music by windows media play 11 on my notebook.
2.change display mode (resolution, color deepth,external display device ...)

I have a Mac, trying to upgrade my Windows Media player from 7.1 to 9.  I am
using OS X.  I download the file from the website.  Then I have to unzip it
with SutffIt.  It creates another file.  I have to unzip that.  It creates

The list below exists in Windows Start Up. It is obviously to do with WMP7
but why does it have to change the regestry on every start-up, is it suppose
to be there?
