I used to be able to play DVD's in Windows media.  Now, when I put in a disc,
I get a 4 way split screen in black and white that's impossible to read.  It

I had WMP 9. it suddenly stopped working and my webcam is no longer recognised.
I downloaded WMP 11 but it still does not play any files.
I was going to remove WMP and re install but I cannot as it is not in
add/remove programs.

is it true that windows media player 12 isn't going to be compatible with
windows vista, but only with windows 7?

After replacing my ageing 100mbit network hub with a gigabit switch windows
media sharing in mediaplayer 11  no longer works in Vista or XP.
The new network switch is a "wiretek gigabit ethernet switch (8 ports)"
Everything else works ok the internet, network shares, web server, ...

Does someone know why when I try to open a URL pointing on a MP3
stream, MS Media player close the connection after reading 10 KB to
redo the same request and then stay connected?

When I try to open windows media player a window opens that says the file
wmploc.dll has a version of 11.0.6001.7004 where 11.0.6001.7000 was expected.
Then it says wmp is not installed properly to reinstall. When I try to
download again it says it says it already exists and ...

I try to play cds in wmp11 and after just a few moments the song quits
playing and nothing else on the cd plays. I have tried this with seveal cds
and all do the same thing. There is a red X next to the abum name.

For some reason, I can't RIP anything.  I had no problem a couple of months

I have my WMP12 library shared with XBOX and ROKU. I noticed since using
WMP12 now the protected DRM songs will all play fine if you just let them
start and finish by themselves.

Windows Media Player 10 added my zillion sound effect files to my
library.
I want to keep the sound effect files on my computer disk but I do not
want them to show up in Windows Media Player.
