I am having difficulties with streaming video on Windows
Media Player 7 on Windows 98 on a Pentium IV computer. The
play begins but after a short while the buffer seems to
fail, and my modem becomes "jammed" and emits a ticking

I am interested in converting my entire help the collection two WMA files .
Can anyone suggest a good setup to do this .  Is there any program out there
that will recognize the dead spots between tracks and save as separate files

I've been having issues...  I have a Sony Vaio PCG-
FX250K.  When I'm watching DVDs on my laptop, the audio
is extremely quiet compared to other formats like MP3 and
CDs. Any ideas?

I have lost the ability to play any of my wmp or mp3 files
in Media Player.  I get the message "Windows Media Player
cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the
Player does not support the format you are trying to

Is there a way to stop Media Guide from connecting to the
internet/showing up at all upon WMP startup?

Okay, I want to start ripping my CDs so I can put them
onto a portable music player.  the thought of having all
my music in one place is actually pretty exciting.
So, my question is to all of you:

How can I stop WMP from loading at the same time as
windows starts? I would rather start WMP when I need it.

I am not getting sound when I play videos on windows media
player, and I clicked on a test link and it said to
install a sound device or sound card. How do I do that?

I don't know why and when, but today I minimized my WMP9
and it does not turn to "mini-mode" anymore, although I
already checked "Windows Media Player" in my Taskbar ->
Toolbars.
