Windows Media Player 9 has recently been starting up every
time I log onto my XP Pro. machine. Does anybody know how
to stop it doing this?

I have the same problem as Barry.
I'm running Windows Media Player 8 on Windows XP
Professional; and when I start the computer, the damn
player starts up.

When I try to play a DVD, my system restarts after about
2 or 3 minutes. It then displays the "a serious error has
occured" and logs the error. I have a P4 2.2GHz, 1024MB
RAM, 64Mb Radeon 8500 vid card. Any ideas? I've tried

I have WM9 and want to watch an .avi file, but when WM
trys to download the codec files, it keeps bombing out.

for some reason whenever I open windows, media player
starts up automatically - this is a total inconvenience
and cant figure out why it happens...Any ideas please!!!??
