Have downloaded Windows Media Player 9 several times but nothing at all will play. Get message "Class not registered" but have ticked all the boxes. Any suggestions please ?

I downloaded media 9 from the internet. My server is comcast. When I try to open media 9 I get the message that media 9 is not configured to the internet. Any suggestions?
